NTT DATA OFF CAMPUS@RVR&JC on 23rd Dec.-some details
Dear Aspirants
Really Unfortunate that I am not able to give you specific
inputs regarding the pattern of the written test for NTT Data .There are a
number of reasons contributing to this ambivalence or lack of clarity. The company's letter of
communication to the colleges is silent on the written test particulars except
the AMCAT shall conduct the test on behalf of NTT. I even tried to get
perspectives from certain employees or previous candidates who are not inclined
to give any specific input as regards the exact component wise description as
they said that the company deliberately employs this strategy of not giving out
details. In fact, the components vary from time to time and place to place. So,
my considered advice is that you should prepare
comprehensively while keeping an open mind.
However, the pattern could be -
Written Aptitude test (AMCAT)- General Aptitude (QT or
Arithmetic,Verbal (English basics) and logical reasoning),
Comprehension,Computer awareness test and C, C++ questions(It could be a mix of
all these components or a selective mix
of some of these components)
GD
Technical Round
HR
Note: details regarding GD & HR preparation shall be
posted in due time after we finish taking the written test
So, for some more
clarity please go thru the following excerpts collected from certain blog
postings made by previous candidates that have been place below.
Previous candidates bog postings:

rather than storing data in cloud?
I applied through college or university and the process took
a day - interviewed at NTT DATA in May 2013.
Interview Details – interview consists of four round apps,
GD, Technical and HR. Aptitude section includes General aptitude, Comprehension
and C, C++ questions... In GD your conviction, communication, confidence
matters. But your ability to reason with others would play a major role. In
technical basic knowledge of programming lang is necessary( C, C++, java and
sql)
Interview Question – 1)u are team leader and if ur team is
unable to complete the project in time what would you do?
2)u require rs 45000 immediately and you draw a maximum
amount of 25000 from atm wat will u do?
I applied through a staffing agency and the process took a
day - interviewed at NTT DATA in February 2013.
Interview Details – NTT Data shortlisted us from an
employability test by Aspiring Minds (AMCAT)...about 850 students were given the
opportunity to attend the recruitment process.
Recruitment process:
1. Group Discussion:
We were divided into a number of groups consisting of about
15 people and were given a topic on which we were supposed to discuss for about
20 minutes........from each group about 5 people got through to the technical
interview. Those who don't speak or take initiative have less chances of
getting through GD round.
2.Technical Interview:
Some of the Technical Interviewers asked technically related
questions (related to the branch you are in) and some others simply tested the
learning ability and problem solving abilities by asking puzzles and
problems.....Each Technical interview lasted about 20 to 30 minutes
3.HR Round:
The most important question they ask here is if we are ready
to work night shifts and be deployed anywhere in the country.....
Interview Question – Are you willing to work on obsolete and
outdated technologies like Fortran etc
Negotiation Details – I asked them if they would give us the
opportunity to take some sort of sabbatical and go for further
education....They said they had no such provision and that the work on job
itself would be more knowledge gaining than any sort of formal education.

Answer the question based on the given passage
Management is a set of processes that can keep a complicated
system of people and technology running smoothly. The most important aspects of
management include planning, budgeting, organising, staffing, controlling, and
problem-solving. Leadership is a set of processes that creates organisations in
the first place or adapts them to significantly changing circumstances.
Leadership defines what the future should look like, aligns people with that
vision, and inspires them to make it happen despite the obstacles. This
distinction is absolutely crucial for our purposes here: Successful
transformation is 70 to 90 per cent leadership and only 10 to 30 percent
management. Yet for historical reasons, many organisations today don't have
much leadership. And almost everyone thinks about the problem here as one of
managing change. For most of this country, as we created thousands and
thousands of large organisations for the first time in human history, we didn't
have enough good managers to keep all those bureaucracies functioning. So many
companies and universities developed management programs and hundreds and
thousands of people were encouraged to learn management on the job. And they
did. But, people were taught little about leadership. To some degree,
management was emphasised because it's easier to teach than leadership. But
even more so, management was the main item on the twentieth-century agenda
because that's what was needed. For every entrepreneur or business builder who
was a leader, we needed hundreds of managers to run their ever-growing
enterprises. Unfortunately for us today, this emphasis on management has often
been institutionalised in corporate cultures that discourage employees from
learning how to lead. Ironically, past success is usually the key ingredient in
producing this outcome. The syndrome, as I have observed it on many occasions,
goes like this: success creates some degree of marked dominance which in turn
produces much growth. After a while keeping the ever-larger organisation under
control becomes the primary challenge. So attention turns inward and managerial
competencies are nurtured. With a strong emphasis on management but not
leadership, bureaucracy and an inward focus takeover. But with continued
success, the result mostly of market dominance, the problem often goes
unaddressed and an unhealthy arrogance begins to evolve. All of these
characteristics then make any transformation effort much more difficult.
Arrogant managers can over-evaluate their current performance and competitive
position, listen poorly and learn slowly. Inwardly focused employees can have
difficulty seeing the very forces that present threats and opportunities.
Bureaucratic cultures can smother those who want to respond to shifting
conditions. And the lack of leadership leaves no force inside these
organisations to break out of the morass.
Q11. Why did companies and universities develop programmes

through trained managers

circumstances.

has taken.

effectively.
d. Creating better performance through customer orientation.
