Dear student  friends

Blogging is just one more way I wanted to explore to connect  to YOU ALL…Catch your fancy…and ultimately make  YOU ALL realize that much can be done with a little bit of thinking and importantly, Thinking Differently.

Dear friends, Education to Employment (better to read Employability) is a trans formative journey that requires managing change, setting goals, shifting priorities and above all changing mindsets. A glance thru the earlier postings might convince you all regarding the recent changes in the focus and parameters of employability, where soft skills has gained so much importance .Over the years, Engineering has built an enviable reputation as a much- sought-after career option due the rich opportunities as well as the potential for growth and a good life. This very exalted status puts a much bigger premium on skills, critical thinking and high performance. Hence, there is tremendous pressure on the student community to live up to the expectations of the Industry as well as society. Hence, I fervently wish you that it is high time we all discovered the real motives/objective of your education (Engineering), that is quite practical and life sustaining.

Please try and put into perspective the following quote:

The real object of education is to give one resources that will endure as long as life endures; habits that time will not destroy; occupations that will render sickness tolerable, solitude pleasant, age venerable, life more dignified and useful, and death less terrible.

Sincerely wish you all understand the gist of the above one and start making small but regular efforts at translating the real meaning and prepare a perfect transcript for life. And also remember that skill development is not a one step effort but a process that keeps evolving with time. And it is also multi focal built on multiple intelligences.

And you need to emulate (follow) the example of the River and inculcate the power of Assimilation in your preparation for career and developing employability. Let us all be very clear about one thing that true employability shall come from the intersection(interface) between many disciplines (read subjects), multiple intelligences, varied experiences. Here, once again I appeal to YOU ALL to challenge the existing /past thinking/norms on any issue that concerns your career or life. Only when YOU challenge, You will gain the power to change……
